Airfoil Large Eddy Simulation
Most fluid simulations use Reynolds average Navier-Stokes solutions since they are much less computationally expensive. However, these methods do not resolve the turbulent nature of the flow. For problems that require better knowledge of the turbulence, large eddy simulation methods can be used.
For the following simulation, a large eddy simulation was used to resolve the turbulent structures of the flow topology as it progresses over a NACA0012 airfoil. This simulation was performed with Ansys Fluent.
